Adjust to the hinge
Marked positions cover common 2½–5-inch hinge lengths. Match the opening to the actual hinge rather than relying only on the package size.

DESIGNED AROUND THE TASK
A hinge leaf needs a recess that matches its length, thickness and corner shape. The adjustable frame gives your router a defined work area, while the clamping knobs hold the jig against the door edge. Check the hardware first, set the guide, then make a test cut before moving to the finished door.

Use the hinge leaf as a depth reference. Check the routed recess on scrap so the installed leaf sits flush with the door edge.
Tighten the clamping knobs before routing. Recheck that the frame cannot move and that the router base can travel freely.
Use the radius guide for rounded hinges. A square-corner hinge needs the routed corners squared with a suitable chisel.

WHERE IT FITS
Use this jig when routing hinge recesses into the edge of a door. It is not a jamb-routing jig. Before starting, check the door construction and the hinge manufacturer's installation requirements.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE
The kit brings the mortise jig, router bit, self-centering drill bit and screwdriver bit together. A compatible router, hinge, fasteners, door and any required chisel are separate project items.
Check the parts, confirm compatibility with your project and make a controlled test before working on the finished piece.

No. This jig is designed to clamp to a door edge. Use a jamb-specific method for the frame side of the hinge.
Routing leaves a radius. Square-corner hinges require chisel work after routing.
Keep the length and depth settings consistent, then measure and mark the next hinge location independently. Confirm alignment before each cut.
